What Pages Need To Be Secure (SSL)

ONLY web pages that collect sensitive information such as credit card numbers need to use SSL - Secure Socket Layers. SSL encryption means that it is nearly impossible for your credit card number to be stolen "in transit" across the Internet.

You will see this message when you Sign In into your account, Register New Account, update stored payment type in account, or Check Out.

You are about to be redirected to a connection that is not secure.

You will see this after Registering a New Account, updating an account or Signing In. Why? Because you are going to a page that does not contain data that needs to be encrypted - such as your shopping cart page which shows what products you have selected but no sensitive information.

Netscape Security Warning Messages

Confusing! Probably due to competition with Internet Explorer, Netscape takes the opposite approach about warnings focusing on the page you are on instead of the page you are going to!

The information you have entered is to be sent over an unencrypted connection and could easily be read by a third party.

Of course it can be read, you don't care if someone reads you are buying a doll! Seriously, this just means you are leaving a page that does not have sensitive information on it. You will not see this message on any page in our site that collects or displays sensitive information. It is followed by the next message...

This means you are on a page that contains or will collect sensitive information.

You are about to leave an encrypted page.

Same as IE message about. You will see this after Registering a New Account, updating an account or Signing In. Why?
