Gene - Mel Odom

Ashton Drake announced to dealers today that their 10 year contract with Mel has expired and will not be renewed. They will be shipping 2005 product for the first 1/2 of 2006. Mel's 2006 line will be provided by someone else. Mel has his own studio, but we don't know who will be manufacturing and distributing the product. IDEX is in 8 weeks and New York International Toy Fair two weeks following, so there will be news soon! Stay tuned!

Gene, our fashionable "movie star" of the 1940s & 1950s, has hit the Doll Scene Bigtime! A fun doll for collectors of all ages, Gene is poseable vinyl, with a wonderful variety of costumes denoting her various "films!" Mel Odom, previously a featured illustrator for such magazines as Time, The New Yorker, etc, has intrigued the collecting community with the vivacious personality of his creation! A doll we don't have to keep "MIB" - a doll to recostume & enjoy!
