Effanbee Little Orphan Annie |
Little Orphan Annie, created by cartoonist Harold Gray, first appeared in newspapers across the United States in 1924. The gutsy orphan with her mop of red hair and optimistic attitude triumphed over adversity and sent bullies running-and in doing so, immediately won the hearts of readers of every age. Little Orphan Annie, that loveable red-haired moppet, comes to life as a 14" doll based on the Bernard Lipfert sculpt "Patsy". The original sculpt dates from 1927 and is consistent with the era in which Little Orphan Annie grew to popularity-it's not a surprise that Annie and Patsy are perfectly suited for a partnership! Our Annie is absolutely perfect in her basic onesie or her classic red dress-either doll is ready to take on whatever life "dishes out,"- with a smile- and the perfect wardrobe (of course!!) of collectible outfits designed for her by Robert Tonner in limited editions of 1,000 pieces each.
Little Orphan Annie is a 14" vinyl doll with a hand-detailed painted face and red, rooted, curly saran hair.
